Samsung arrives this year with its new camera, the Samsung Digimax A502 which is a very exciting camera and setting new standards in the market! It was announced in North America on the 02/6/05. This model measures 97 x 53 x 30 mm and weights 175 g. The Digimax A502 has for maximum resolution 2592 x 1944. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 2272 x 1704, 2048 x 1704, 1600 x 1200, 640 x 480. The image ratio (width / height) on the Samsung Digimax A502 is set at 4:3, making a camera of 5.0 mega pixels. The internal sensor on the Digimax A502 is a CCD having for dimensions 1/2.5 " and uses a RGB color filter.

Samsung included a digital zoom on the Digimax A502 and also added an internal flash which is very handy to any cameras nowadays . The normal focus range between the camera lens and the main subject is 100 cm. The min. shutter speed of the Digimax A502 is 2 seconds and the maximum shutter is 1/1000 seconds. Movies are supported on this camera which is always a useful function. The Samsung Digimax A502 has an internal memory of 16 mb extendable with external storage with SD/MMC card + Internal. The LCD implemented in the Digimax A502 measures 1.8 ".
