It can also be set at a lower resolution of 2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200, 640 x 480. The image ratio on the Samsung Digimax V40 is set at 4:3, for a total of 3.9 mega pixels. The lens's sensor of the Digimax V40 is a CCD of dimensions 1/1.8 " using a RGB color filter. Samsung included a digital zoom on the Digimax V40 with an internal flash which is always essential in a camera .
The normal focus range is 80 cm. The minimum shutter speed (min. exposition to light) on the Digimax V40 was set at 2 seconds and the maximum shutter is 1/2000 seconds. Movies are supported in this version being a very useful function. The LCD implemented in the Digimax V40 is measuring 2.0 ". A video out plug exists allowing you to watch your pictures on TV.
