The sensor on the S1030 is a CCD measuring only 1/1.8 " and uses a RGB color filter. Samsung included a digital zoom on the S1030 and also added an internal flash being very common in new cameras .
The normal focus range between the camera lens and the object is 80 cm. The min. shutter speed of the S1030 is 1 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/1500 seconds. Movies are supported in this model which is always a useful function. The Samsung S1030 camera has an internal storage of 45 mb and can be extended with external storage by using SD/MMC/SDHC card + Internal. The LCD screen available on the S1030 measures 2.7 ". A video output is available allowing you to watch your pictures on TV. Connection to a computer is available through USB.
