It was announced on the North American market on the 07/1/07. This nice little piece of technology measures 104 x 64 x 25 mm and has for weight 222 g. It also supports a lower resolution of 2592 x 1944, 2048 x 1536, 1024 x 768. The sensor on the S850 is a CCD which measures 1/1.8 " using a RGB color filter. Samsung included a digital zoom on the S850 and included an internal flash which is very handy to any cameras nowadays . The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 80 cm.
The min. shutter speed of the S850 is 15 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds. The movie mode is supported in this version which is always a useful function. The Samsung S850 includes an internal memory of 20 mb and can be extended with SD/MMC/SDHC card + Internal. The LCD implemented in the S850 is measuring 2.5 ". A video out plug exists making it handy to watch pictures on your television. USB connectivity to a computer is supported.
